Coaching points
– Feet about shoulder width apart.
– Shooting arm up straight; supporting hand resting on side of ball.
– Shooting arm just in front of ear, avoiding arching the back or having arm too far forward.
– Strong knee bend to provide power and drive to get height on shot.
– Small amount of elbow bend and finish with strong flick, aiming for good height and arc on shot.
– To assist in getting ball getting up over front edge of ring and falling through ‘swish’, players should aim to hit a spot on the back inside edge of the ring.
